On February 6, two earthquakes at magnitude 7.8 hit Turkey and Syria, which aroused widespread concern from the international community.
As of February 13, the devastating disasters killed 33,000 people in the two countries. What’s worse, the heavy snow increased great difficulties for the rescue work. Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country is facing "one of the biggest disasters" of its modern history.
JOINTAS pays close attentions to the rescue work and concerns the people in quake-hit area. With hope to provide assistance within its capacity and to give warmth to the people who are in difficulties, JOINTAS has arranged procurement, sorting, and transportation of 1,000 blankets and 1,000 sleeping bags, worth 200,000 yuan in the past few days. The materials were sent to the receiving point in Guangzhou on February 13. It is reported that the supplies will be sent to Turkey as soon as possible.

Mr. Kurtulus Aykan, Consul General of the Republic of Turkiye in Guangzhou, said that Turkiye is now in winter and needs all the materials to keep warm. He thanked JOINTAS and other Chinese companies for their kind donations.
There are no borders in the face of disasters. When one party is in trouble, all parties will support it.
Many countries, enterprises, and individuals have reached out to help the disaster-stricken areas in Turkey by sending rescue teams, cash, and materials.
"Bosom friends make distance disappear." During the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, the Turkiye government provided China with $2 million in aid; when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in 2020, Turkiye also donated a large number of medical supplies to China. Faced with such a huge disaster, as of February 9, the Chinese government has provided a total of 70 million yuan ($10 million) in emergency aid to Turkiye and Syria. We believe Turkiye and Syria and their people, led by their respective presidents, will surely get through the disaster at an early date and rebuild their homes.
