Precautions for replacing door and window sealant
1. Choose brand sealant with quality assurance
There are a large number of low-quality sealant products in the decoration market. Although the price is cheap, the service life is extremely short. Some may harden and crack in one or two years or even months.
2. Select sealant with displacement capacity of 20 and above
In the actual use process, the sealant will be stretched and compressed with the deformation of the joint. If the displacement ability level is too small, the gel may crack.
3. Confirm that the adhesion between the sealant and the substrate is qualified before construction
Sealant is not a universal glue, not all materials can be bonded, and a small number of sprayed materials may have poor bonding, and will debond after using for a period of time. In addition, the base surface of the external wall gap wall should be smooth and compact, and no sand or ash should fall.
If the sealant comes into contact with other materials, such as paint, EPDM strips, cushions, etc., compatibility tests should also be conducted.
4. Clean the surface of the substrate before construction
The surface of the substrate should be cleaned up during construction to ensure that the bonding surface is dry and clean. It is not advisable to apply glue immediately after heavy rain, because the moisture content in the wall is high, which will escape when the temperature rises, causing the sealant to bubble.

5. Sealant filling situation
The gap should be fully filled during construction. It is recommended that the overlap width of the sealant on both sides is not less than 5mm and the thickness is not less than 3mm. Reasonable wide thickness can ensure the long-term use of the sealant.
6. Check the use of foaming agent
